Naiva – a new culture magazine in Croatia
The Croatian Association of Naïve Artists is about to publish the first number of the Naiva magazine, which will be issued trimonthly, i.e. four times per year; in spring, summer, fall and winter. The magazine is intended for all members of the Association, all naïve art aficionados as well as all those who are interested in news from this segment of the visual arts. The magazine will have 32 pages, in A4 format, and will cost 20 HRK. Subscription for Association members, as well as everyone else, is 100 HRK per year. A comprehensive monograph “50 years of the Croatian Association of Naïve Artists” was released
Released in the April of 2014, the comprehensive monograph “50 Years of the Croatian Association of Naïve Artists” was written in Croatian and English. A result of joint effort by a group of art historians, art critics, linguists, as well as painters and sculptors,the book comprises three parts. The first part featuresan overview of naïve art, a history of naïve art in Croatia, and finally, an account of the historical circumstances surrounding the foundation of the Association. The second part features a list of exhibitions by Association members from 1964 to this day. The third part of the monograph features the alphabetically listed short biographies of Association members, painters and sculptors, with a photo of a single work of theirs. The book is in A4 format, with 160 pages and around 860. The monograph’s author is Igor Mukić, painter and president of the Association. The book can be purchased from the seat of the Association at the Mirko Virius Gallery, or ordered via e-mail and shipped to your address.
